Dill is a fabulous herb. It comes from the Nordic word Dilla which means to lull. How poetic is that!
It is sweet, soft and has a gentle aniseed flavour which is synonymous with Scandanavian cuisine - pickles and gravlax. It is therefore bang on trend atm from both the fashion for all hygge and everything pickled/cured.
Far too lovely to resist.
